Usage and quotas

Usage metering tracks how much analytics volume a site or account consumes.

What counts as usage

Usage can include:

  • Accepted pageviews.
  • Accepted custom events.
  • API events.
  • Export jobs.
  • Report or alert processing where configured.

Rejected events, invalid domains and blocked exploit-like hostnames should not count as billable usage.

Soft limits

Soft limits warn users before a quota is exhausted. PureStats can send email warnings and show dashboard notices when usage approaches thresholds such as 80% or 90%.

Hard limits

Hard limits can stop accepting new events after the quota is reached. When this happens, Site Health and dashboard notices should show the quota state clearly.

Quota changes

If you expect a traffic spike or need a higher quota, update your plan or contact PureStats support before a launch.

Monitoring

Site owners should review plan limits before high-traffic launches and pay attention to quota warning emails.
