Add a site
A site represents one analytics property. It has one canonical domain and can have additional allowed domains through site aliases.
Domain format
Enter only the hostname:
example.com
Do not enter:
https://example.com
example.com/pricing
example.com?utm_source=test
*.example.com
PureStats normalizes case, removes unsafe input and validates hostnames before the site can be stored.
Canonical domain
The canonical domain is the main identity for the site. It is used in dashboards, filters, export jobs, alerts, report schedules and tracking verification.
Use the root domain if your public site lives there. Use a subdomain if that is the actual product surface, for example app.example.com.
Multiple domains
If your user journey spans multiple hostnames, add aliases after creating the site:
www.example.comapp.example.comcheckout.example.com
Aliases let PureStats accept valid traffic for the same site while still rejecting random domains.
Settings to review after creation
Open Site Settings and confirm:
- Timezone.
- Bot and spam filtering.
- IP anonymization.
- Path exclusions.
- Cross-domain stitching.
- Usage quota behavior.
- Team access.
Once the site is created, install the tracker from the setup panel.
